Dear Randy,

Twenty five years ago, when I was a beardless boy of little more than fifty, bearded, long haired and with a motorcycle helmet under your arm, you were somehow allowed to enter my office, and present your “fantastic” claims that your new invention was going to save us hundreds of thousands, if not millions. Pretty tall claims for a hairy hippie like young man. However, I figured anyone looking like that could not be a con man, so I agreed to let you put one of your “Gold Bugs” into the dragout of one of our heavily used gold plating tanks. A month later you returned and extracted over 40 ounces of gold from this one tank, essentially tripling the yield we’d been getting from our prior method.

Not being too stupid, we immediately installed “Gold Bugs” in all our tanks with similar spectacular results.

Though I can’t say that the use of your devices was the only reason for our very substantial growth; however, since we normally invest most of our profit in growth, it was a substantial reason. Obviously a company that sacrifices a large part of their bottom line to loss of precious metal in solution rinses is sacrificing profit and growth potential.

Enough encomiums; little did I know that day 25 years ago would be the beginning of a lifelong friendship. I only have two complaints, first, you sing off key which makes it impossible to sing a duet with you. Also, it’s been years since you picked up a lunch tab, maybe you should raise “Gold Bug” prices so you can afford to do so.

Warmest personal regards

Editor’s note: Mr. Epner has characterized Mr. Seidler’s first complaint as “spurious”, citing the real reason that duets between them are not possible is because Mr. Seidler is hopelessly off key. While Mr. Epner concedes Mr. Seidler’s second complaint, he prefers to have Mr. Seidler continue to pick up tabs rather than have to raise his prices to his other valued customers and prospects.

Dear Mr. Epner,

When my secretary told me you were on the phone, I must confess, I did not even know who you were. I really should have known, as any product that we have used as long as we have used yours, I should know who makes it. It’s a sensational product.

We have used Gold Bugs in our many rinses as long as I can remember, as least two decades but probably three, or more. The reason is simple: they just work and work and continuously keep our precious metals where they belong, in our possession rather than on the floor in the effluent or down the sewer.

I would hate to hazard a guess as to how much your invention has saved us over all these years. I shall only say you have helped keep us competitive over some very rocky periods.

To anyone viewing this testimonial, I would say try it, you will be hooked.

Best regards,

Thomas A. Tanury Chairman

Dear Randy:

Central Metal Finishing, Inc. is an AS9100 and Nadcap approved metal finishing facility. We operate in a very fast paced buisness enviroment and can’t afford to have down time that can impact delivery to our customers. We have been using your Ionnet system on our cadmium barrel line for approximatley 8 months now to reduce levels of cadmium drag-outs to sub ppm levels. Our cyanide level is reduced nearly as low.

As a result our labor costs and down time for changing rinses has signifigantly reduced. Waste treatment costs have also dropped substantially and we are using less water. We are also using your “Gold Bug” technology as part of our silver reclaim process with equally satisfactory results and plan to purchase additional Gold Bugs. Both systems are low on maintenance and highly reliable.

Dear Randy:

The Gold Bug is King! We use it for our gold recovery and it does a remarkable job. We have also found it to be quite useful in recovering the palladium from our electroless copper activator solution. When the bath is spent, The Gold Bug is able to remove all the palladium to low concentrations. While the deposit is not always perfect, the results are quite satisfactorily. I am surprised that we are the only ones that you know of using it in this manner.

Dear Randy:

I was one of your very first customers, over 20 years ago. The very first time I got the results from your Gold Bug System, I absolutely was taken aback at the incredible yield returned that I had been missing for the 40 years that I was in business prior to meeting you. We have used your Gold Bug for gold and silver recovery for 20 years. I can tell you that this was the single best investment in equipment I have ever made, bar none.I have read your website and honestly say that you do not overstate your case.

Dear Randy,

I only wish that we had tried your Ionnet System for cadmium waster solutions years ago. When our local sewer authority informed us that our limit on cadmium would be going down, I knew we had to do something. That was when we purchased your Ionnet System. It is remarkable what it has done for us. The sewer authority regulates us on final effluent so that is where we measure the camium concentration. As a result of using the Ionnet System the final effluent cadmium concentration in our 30,000 gallon per day waste water flow has dropped from a previous range of .4 to .5 ppm to a present level of .1 to .15 ppm. This has allowed us to be in a very acceptable position with the new discharge limits. When the authorities asked how we did it we proudly provided them with a working demonstration and explaination of how the Ionnet System worked.

The other “side benefit” of the Ionnet System is that it reduced the cyanide level in our discharge to almost nil. This has alway been a difficult polutant to control due to the fact that it readily complexes with other metals making it difficult to destroy. The Ionnet System significantly reduces the cyanide concentration at the source (the drag out tank) before it can mix with other waste and complex.

In all, we are very pleased with the results. This system has saved us money, labor and headaches. I would certainly recommend it to any company looking to cut their disposal costs.

Dear Randy,

Artistic Plating dba Advanced Plating Technologies has been plating precious metals for nearly 68 years. In that time I have tried many recovery techniques to mitigate the inadvertent loss of those valuable metals. I have used ion exchange resins, bi-polar electro-winning systems and closed loop rinsing schemes. I can honestly say I like your system the best.

The “Gold Bug System” uses disposable cartridges rather than non-disposable stainless steel electrodes and thus saves labor in removing the captured metals. It saves the mess, labor and time of having to scrape plates. Additionally, because there is more cathode surface area in a given solution volume, plating from low concentration baths at reasonable current densities is possible which allows for improved metal capture. I can weigh the cartridges before and after and get a fairly good idea of the amount of metal present. This provides an accurate estimate of the metal being sent to the refinery. I can dissolve or melt these cartridges for even better accuracy. The system is compact and takes very little room in the drag-out tank. The system is safe and requires little maintenance.

What can I say is this is a great product. I wish I had thought of it!

Dear Randy:

At American Electro Products, Inc., we do a very significant volume of silver plating. As a result, we need to change our silver dragouts frequently. Because they contain a relatively low concentration of silver for which we had no effective process to recover, we were unable to recover all of the silver. When we heard about your Ionnet system, we were uncertain if it would be cost effective. But since you offered to let us try it with no obligations, we did.

We’re glad we did! The Ionnet unit works very quickly and efficiently. We batch treat 300 gallons of silver dragout at a time containing about 1000ppm. It takes about 8 hours to reduce the concentration to <10ppm. We are recovering far more silver than we expected and the unit paid for itself within several months. Because the expanded surface area cathodes you provide melt easily, our refiner is able to easily recover the silver.

As a bonus, it takes very little labor. We pump in the solution, turn the unit on, and we’re done. When we come back, the silver is removed. The Ionnet unit has definitely been a product well worth our investment.

Dear Randy:

We have at least eight Gold Bugs on our gold and silver drag-out tanks. When you’re talking about gold at $430 an ounce, you have to be nuts not to put one of your gadgets on the rinse. Even when you’re talking about silver, the dual aspects of metal value and effluent containment make the Gold Bug a natural. We also use the Gold Bug to plate-out all of our spent plating and stripper solutions. The end point: 1-2PPM!

Suffice it to say that you have made our company quite a bit more profitable than it would have been had I been attacking this problem in some other manner. You have always been prompt and helpful whenever we have needed anything. Thanks.

Dear Randy:

We have used your Gold Bugs for nickel and copper over the last nearly two years and only very recently put it on our gold tank.

In the case of nickel, for various reasons, we use it offline every evening in our holding tank. The concentration starts around 1500ppm. By morning, the concentration is down to two hundred ppm. In conjunction with other technologies, this decrease is enough to keep us perfectly clean. In the case of copper, the Gold Bug is on-line and constantly keeps our drag out very low.

We have not yet seen our results with gold. I am quite optimistic.

Sincerely,

John Jorjorian

Dear Randy,

I know, I know! It took me 3 years to finally try your Ionnet System on our electro-less copper bailout, after using it for years on our silver rinses, and of course, your Gold bugs, everywhere.

Yeah…I should have done it 20 years ago, but even you did not know how well it would work back then. So let me tell you just how well it works:

In the past, we had been treating this constant waste by standard means, with all the concomitant labor, chemicals, and other costs. Now, we put 400 gallons of the deep dark blue bail-out solution in a tank, just turn a switch, and within 24 hours the solution appears to be crystal clear, and the concentration of copper is down below .3 ppm! If we wanted, we could bring it down to .1 ppm or even lower. With just the formaldehyde left we could easily oxidize this, pH adjust the solution, and dispose directly to the sewer…if we had a sewer! That is how well this system works. It’s so straightforward and simple, and of course maintenance free.

This has changed everything! Kudos to you.

Dear Randy:

Your company was recommended to us by one of our outside vendors so that we could de-plate one of our spend gold baths. At the time, I was not aware how valuable your product would be to our operation.

We ordered three of your Gold Bug systems initially to recover from our strip solutions, plating baths, and especially our drag-out tanks. As the director of technology at this company, I was somewhat skeptical of your claims, in terms of the absolute efficiency of your product. However, after careful analysis of our tanks, the Gold Bug amazed us because it was able to remove the metals to remarkably low levels, i.e. 1 or 2 ppm, very quickly. I am sure this is because of the very low current density that you operate at because of the very large surface area contained in your cell and the turbulent flow designed into the system.

We have sinced ordered 8 more such systems. We use them to recover our gold, silver and even palladium from our electroless seeding process. We are also planning to use one in our copper drag-out.

Your refining service has also been exemplary. Our turnaround time was less than one week, and the return was right at our theoretical estimate. We paid for all systems with the very first yield from them. It has been quite a remarkable investment.

I thank you for coming to Chicago immediately, at my request, to talk about what it is that you do.

As may be obvious, I wholeheartedly recommend your product and service to any and all who may read this letter.

Dear Mr. Epner,

We have been using the GOLD BUG system with Macro-Matrix Cathodes manufactured by you in the rinse waters of our gold-tin lead selective reel to reel plating line for the last twelve years. The system has greatly simplified the process of recovery of gold from the drag out solution of our main gold plating bath. The drag out solution has a relatively low concentration of gold, but because of the peculiar shape of the cathodes and their extremely large surface area, quite a large volume of drag out solution is constantly in contact with the cathodes, thereby making the process of gold deposition on the same quite efficient.

The process of recovery of gold from the cathode is very simple and economical. 90-95% pure gold can be obtained by treating the cathodes with commonly available acids such as Sulphuric Acid and Nitric Acid.

We highly recommend the use of your GOLD BUG system and hope one day you may start selling this product here, where you belong, in India! And when you do come, I look forward to meeting you, as one of your very first customers on the subcontinent.

Dear Randy,

In the spring of 2006 we were looking for a better way to recover our silver from our spent plating baths. The current practice was to send the baths out for reclamation. There were exorbitant costs associated with both the processing and the transportation of this practice.

After viewing several units we made the decision to try the Ionnet system made by Precious Metals Processing Consultants, Inc. Once the unit was set up and running in a production environment it literally paid for itself within a few weeks. We started toying with the idea of purchasing multiple units but then we came to the realization that this one unit was capable of handling all our needs. Thanks Randy for inventing a product that far exceeded our expectations.

Good Day Sir,

We at Merit Enterprises Inc., have tried your “Dummycell” and are impressed with the results we achieved. The Cell brought down the PPM of Copper in our Nickel Baths and our Nickel Strike. (.01).

It is of great value to be able to leave this Unit in the Baths overnight. It is self-contained. We mounted the pump and rectifier to a PVC Base that straddles our tanks.

We have used your Gold Bug system for years and you can add us to your Satisfied Customers List.
